Thousands of netballers from around Australia and New Zealand are expected to converge on the Gold Coast in September for a weekend of fun, frivolity and.....netball.

NetFest, the first mass participation netball event of its kind, will be held at the end of the regular netball season for both countries and is open to 18 and over female and male players of all levels.

NetFest 2011 will be held at the Gold Coast from September 8-11, 2011.

The inaugural event was held in March 2005. It was created as a unique fundraising event for the Asthma Foundation of Western Australia and has evolved into WA's largest mass participation cycling event. In 2010 more than $113,000 was raised!

The Santos Great Bike Ride was established in 2004, and has quickly become one of Western Australia’s most iconic mass cycling events. The event is owned by the Rotary Club of Perth and raises vital funds for the St John of God Foundation Horizon House Project, Hope for Children and the Heart Foundation.

The 2010 event, which will be held on Sunday 17 October in Melbourne, is expected to attract more than 16,000 bike riders.

Now in its 18th year, HBA Around the Bay in a Day has grown from 2500 participants in 1993 to more than 15,000 last year.

The event is a mass participation ride from Brisbane to the Gold Coast for thousands of cyclists. The event starts at South Bank and utilises the South East Busway to travel to Eight Mile Plains and then travels through Eagleby, Logan, Beenleigh, Coomera and Helensvale to the Gold Coast with a finish at Southport.

·100km ride starts at South Brisbane progressively from 5.15 am to 6.45am

· 60km ride starts at Maurice Park, Eagleby (Logan City Council) at 8am

· Ride finishes at Mitchell Park, Southport

In the tradition of the great European cycling events this 100 Mile (160 km) ride will take you from the heart of Brisbane to sun drenched Noosa where you can take a break in paradise.

The 10th Queensland Corporate games is set for 15  to 17  May.   Final entry deadline is 16 April 2009.  A record 4,642 athletes from over 120 organisations participated last year. This uinique 70km ride will first take you past city skyscrapers before you begin climbing Brisbane’s iconic Mt Coot-tha, where forests make way for spectacular city views. With regular food and drink stops along the way, the ride continues past the scenic Brisbane River to the finish line at South Bank Parklands.

By participating in the ride you will help raise money for The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.

All orders must be placed by 17 March for guaranteed delivery before the race. Garments will be dispatched the week before the event.

The 2009 Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma has been set for Sunday 22nd March 2009 and will feature the 10km Family Ride, the 30km Ride through the Tunnel, and the much anticipated 60km Hike from Kwinana to Joondalup.

With a turnout in excess of 2000 cyclists in its first year the 60km event proved popular with regular and more experienced cyclists while also posing a challenge to overcome for the less experienced.
