Garment Construction

The final stage of your garment is putting it together.

Many different types of sewing machines are used depending on the fabrics and the sewing techniques best suited to the purpose of the garment. For example in garments where there is a risk of chaffing we minimise the seams by using a sewing technique called flat locking. The individual sewers who construct your garment all specialise in a particular machine and technique and one garment can move through many sewers and machines before it is complete. The thread strength and stitch size is matched with the garment use and the fabric properties so that your garment will stand the test of time. For example when the fabric stretches stronger thread and smaller stitches are required to withstand the stretch in the fabric. We also use special techniques to ensure that your garment will not unravel.

All garments are subjected to quality control and checking through each stage of the process.
