Product Description

The Optimise A.I.R. Tri Suit has been developed with the aspiration of becoming the world’s fastest non-drafting triathlon suit. Standing for “Aerodynamics through Innovation and Research”, the Optimise A.I.R. Tri Suit will create a significant advantage for triathletes in some of the world’s toughest races, such as Ironman Melbourne, Ironman Port Macquarie and Ironman Cairns. Furthermore, the Optimise A.I.R. Tri Suit achieves the highest sun protection of any tri suit currently available, achieving an EXCELLENT UPF50+ rating.

Developed by the Scody Research and Design Team, the Optimise A.I.R. Tri Suit has a Zoned Fabric Construction to for the greatest reduction in drag in specific regions of the body. The dimpled fabric ‘Matrix’ has been used in regions of high wind velocity such as the shoulders and upper arms, whilst ‘X-Opaque’ has been used in those with less wind exposure, such as the torso, to achieve the highest moisture management and breathability. The A.I.R. Tri Suit also features the SCODY LongTX chamois with high-density foam comfort and perforation channels, Air Flex side panels for even more breathability, and two rear pockets for nutrition storage.

Garment + Construction Characteristics

  • Aerodynamic Zoned Fabric Construction: Dimpled fabric (Matrix) in regions of high wind velocity to decrease drag. Sleeves extend to elbow to achieve greatest drag benefit.
  • Stitch and Seams orientated to wind flow to improve aerodynamics.
  • 2015 SCODY LongTX Chamois
  • Rear pocket for nutrition storage, located in mid-lower back to decrease drag during swim and bike
  • Flatlocked seams to minimize chafing
  • Digital sublimation printing technology allows infinite design and colour options; design is permanently fused into fabric fibres and will never fade peel or crack.

Fabric Characteristics

1. Hydra-Dura Light (Black Fabric): A 220gsm Polyester/  LYCRA®SPORT fabric

  • The fabric utilizes trademark LYCRA®SPORT which produces a consistent hgh quality result.
  • The fabric is highly compressive due to the stretch profile plus fabric density. It has excellent stretch recovery.
  • Excellent colour fastness
  • The fabric has a coldblack® technology finish. coldblack® is a sun reflector and UV Protector. The fabric stays cool to the touch and offers optimal protection from heating up due to sunlight absortion.

2. X-Opaque: This fabric takes its name from the unique flat cross section and weave of its yarn

  • Each flat fibre has 6 surface channels along which moisture can be transported away from the skin surface; giving the fabric an excellent moisture wicking property.
  • the flat shape of the fibres means that the filaments overlap when weaving occurs creating
  • Larger surface that helps to release the body heat and allow for maximum breathability
  • A soft handle, luster and reduced crushing
  • UPF 50+: Excellent sun protection
  • Sanitized:Antimicrobial treatment prevents growth of bacteria: you stay fresh longer

3. Matrix: Used through shoulder and sleeves,

  • Dimpled surface characteristic for optimal aerodynamic performance
  • Maximum Breathability (Hexagon Mesh),
  • Moisture Wicking,
  • Fast Drying,
  • Anti-microbial,
  • 4-way stretch,
  • UPF 50+ (Excellent)

4. Air Flex: Side panels,

  • Maximum breathability and Moisture Management

Garment Accessories

  • SCODY LongTX Chamois specifically developed for Iron-distance events
    • emphasis is placed on time-trialing comfort on the bike and unrestricted freedom of movement during the run.
    • Increased padding in the perineum region provides protection for soft tissue structures
    • 4mm perforations achieve maximum breathability and drying performance
